Yes, to play GC games you need a GC controller, I found this out last night when my friend brought round his GC games!!!

No you dont 'need' a classic controller, when you go to the Virtual Console Online Store and click on a game, it shows what controllers can be used. They tend to vary, but many work with just the wii remote or a GC controller.

No, you dont 'need' an SD card, but if you want to get one, 1GB is under £10 now.

Not sure on GC games as I havent played many myself, although Mario Double Dash is meant to be good. I'll know more when I can play them later!

Yes, Woolworths came online for a few seconds on thursday afternoon. By pure luck I wandered onto their website, noticed the "Add to Basket" button was active and I quickly ordered. I even managed to use a £5 discount code taken from MSE!

It's been hard work finding one considering Currys pre-order let me down. I will not be ordering from them again but i've been impressed with Woolies. If you want want before Xmas, persevere and I'm sure you will find one... DON'T GIVE UP!! I have heard that Woolworths are getting more stock in this week so it is worth checking.

Thanks for the advice on what to buy. I have noticed the accessories are going to cost a lot of money. The console is a fair price but it looks like I may need to buy:

Gamecube controller
Gamecube memory card
Wii 2nd Remote (Wii Play)
2nd Nunchuk
Wii SD Card

I have not been impressed with the Wii games line-up so I think I will buy GC games for now. As I have never owned a Nintendo before I reckon I will be impressed with the older games.

Has anyone ordered Wii Play from HMV? I ordered it on the weekend and it said "Will Ship for Christmas". I'm getting annoyed now because it says "Ordered from Supplier" on their website.

It did say on my email that it should get delivered on the 18th so starting to worry a little
I did call them but he said its getting sent direct from the suppliers and could take a few days

Right this is p****** me off i have rang 4 place's today what had them in and all said they wont hold them, now people on here (no offence to anyone) have had them held i have tried for the last two weeks to get one and i know a few people on here are in the same boat and then you get greedy little t**** like welcome saying how much he has made and how many he has got it just f**** me off how company's know how hard it is to get one but yet they sell 3 and 4 to the same person

i totally agree,i can't get one for my son.I preordered with PLAY but was let down because i was a day out.I have ordered one off TOYSRUS,even they can't say it will be here by christmas

Know what you mean, my first call trying to get a Wii was to Game on Mon Morning "Yes, we're getting some today - would you like to put your name down...Err, OK, I suppose so". I couldn't see what was so difficult about getting a Wii, then I started to read these forums.

I should add, the Wii is for Mii, and I'll be playing with it on Christmas morning, not flogging it for a profit on Ebay...
