New Passports received in 6 days - good work passport agency!!

Last Saturday I sent 3 passports off by Special Delivery, to be renewed.

Yesterday, Friday, I came home to find them with the daily post. So it took a whopping 6 days in total for the standard non-checking service.

Credit where credit is due!!

Similar here, posted on a Wednesday, via Special Delivery, returned to me just 7 days later.

Very good for July/August busy period.;)

Clearly there is no benefit in using the Post Office " Check and Send " service. ( at great cost ).

Must have too many staff! They'll be ripe for Dave & Nick's cuts.

    (BTW, I'm being ironic.)

Indeed, they do look ripe for being sadly ConDem'ed to a lesser service.

I am not a fan of that service, l found that each counter staff members don't seem to work to the same procedures in my local main PO. In my case one staff member declined the application on one issue, when rectified and went back another one declined it on 2 other issues that the previous staff member found acceptable. Hence a written complaint was made (not responded too of course)

We're flying in October and need passports renewed so this is good news, we were wondering how long it would take. We've taken our own photos though and will print them in Tesco, just hope they will be good enough.

We printed ours out at home tiff and they were fine. As long as they are the right size you should be OK - they give a guide in the booklet. We are going in October too :D 10 weeks next Sunday.

I am also pleased that we did not pay for the checking service - I just told her that if they were wrong they could send them back!! They had taken the money for them (you can pay by Credit Card) by Monday morning.

Just make sure that the photo's fully comply with the guidelines, correct background, correct size etc.;)
  • Our new passports arrived within 2 weeks, if you get them renewed in plenty of time then there is never a problem. We always use Post Office check and send, I would rather pay £5 extra and know all is correct.

Last time I did check and send they told me that because I wore glasses I needed to include a photo with me wearing glasses....!!

I told them just to send it, if it was incorrect they would return it to me but that it does say on the leaflet not to wear glasses. Was a waste of money.

As long as you leave yourself enough time they'll just return them to you if they are wrong.
