*yawn* been trying to sleep, I didn't get to sleep till past 6 this morning. I was being very silly and vain, I've been getting lots of warts lately, I've gone from 2 to about 18 in the last year, and that's just where I can see, I don't know about my back and scalp. Anyway I checked them before bed and found two new ones on my face. And then spent hours worrying/getting upset about what I'll look like in a couple of years if it carries on.
Anyway, sorry to burden everyone but could someone please tell me not to be so frivolous and daft about it please.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
Ames,
When you say 'warts' do you mean 'moles'?
Is it a medical condition they are showing up because I don't think that getting so many is entirely something to brush under the carpet-have you spoken to your Dr about them?Empty pockets never held anyone back, only empty heads and empty hearts can do that -Peale0 -
Bunny, the GP called them warts, most of them are little round things that look like freckles but they're raised up and vary in colour. Three of the ones on my face are tiny little bobbly ones, you can't really see them but can feel them. I saw my GP who said they're just warts and nothing to worry about, and I mentioned them to my immunologist who's doing some tests in case they're a symptom of a very rare disorder called whim's (the w stands for warts). No one's said anything can be done to stop them though, and when I saw the nurse about the ones on my face she said no-one would remove them because around my eyes is too dangerous to mess with, and that it'd leave a bigger scar than the wart.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0

Ames, i've got a wart under my lashes on my left eye. it's never grown or bothered me and i don't think people notice it.
The only thing it affects is putting on eye liner!!Cats don't have owners - they have staff!!DFW Long Hauler Supporter No 1500 -
Ok, I just don't think its something to dismiss-and this is just my opinion! I am not a Dr of course but I would continue to ask about them-it kind of indicates to me another issue really. Sorry, I know you asked us to allay (?) your fears...Empty pockets never held anyone back, only empty heads and empty hearts can do that -Peale0

That's fine Bunny, I'm going to ask my regular GP about it this week when I see her. I'm just annoyed with myself for being bothered about looks when there's more important things in life.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0

Ames, don't be.... if you feel uncomfortable about yourself then doing something about it is positive.
