:)When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :)

Hi everyone

  • I'm going on a tidy the flat blitz
  • Hopefully meeting some friends for a couple of drinks
  • Emailing ebayer...parcel not arrived :(
  • HC - maybe at launderette
  • Looking for/deciding on which crocs to get - I'm thinking olivia but want to find them in silver...no luck so far.
  • Bake sumat for work on Monday/Tuesday
  • Chill out with a book and DS game
  • Post post pals letter and remaining couple of wedding invites
Hope everyone has a lurvelly weekend!

Morning La escocesa. Thanks for starting the thread. Bit of a cleaning focus for me this weekend.

    * weekly RM posting return
    * tidy the kitchen and clean up & declutter the worktops :(
    * clean out DH car and fit new seat covers
    * HC (pleeease let it brighten up enough by tomorrow to dry outside)
    * return expensive dress to shops

    Morning ladies!
What are we all doing up so early on a Saturday?!
My dog is my excuse - bouncing on my head at 7am telling me he wants a poo! Oh well, at least he tells me!

OH is not working this weekend so it'll be company for me - a change from the week when I'm on my own all the time.

    The plan for today..
    • Go food shopping armed with a list and try to stick to budget
    • Put petrol in
    • Do one load of washing and dry naturally
    • If the rain holds off, take the dog for a good walk out somewhere with OH - found a book of walks yesterday and think we can attempt a "Level 1" walk - the easiest!
    • Transfer money from savings to pay for clothes shopping splurge in the week
    • Stay in tonight and watch a film
    • Tidy kitchen
    • Checked banks
    • Checked quidco
    • Do any surveys that come
    • Start looking at lesson set 1 - made a good start on the school work finally yesterday so have a teeny bit of enthusiasm
    • Email teacher friend to see if he wants to meet up to discuss new lesson approach
    • Withdraw some cash - my £15 lasted me all week last week and I still have £1 left!
That's it for today - have a good day.

ooooo I did my day zero project 101 list whilst I was bed bound yesterday (but only did 86 as I wanted to leave a bit of space for things that may come up over the next 2.75 years!) I will post later...

    • [STRIKE]hm bread [/STRIKE] oh did this morning :D
    • make chocolate bread in the bm (last attempt didn't turn out too good :o)
    • [STRIKE]cupboard, fridge & freezer inventory (see how many meals I can eek out before going shopping ;))[/STRIKE] practically a whole week! Just need to get a few bits - meat for 2 days, fruit, box of wine (essential item I'm afraid :o)
    • [STRIKE]write up meal plan & shopping list[/STRIKE]
    • prepare spare room for next student coming 1.30am
    • [STRIKE]check banking [/STRIKE] absolutely no change, but it makes me feel good to check it anyway :D
    • [STRIKE]quick house clean[/STRIKE]
    • read book (must be more committed to my book :o)
    • make a cake (oh has requested this!)
    • get up to 700 posts :D
    • [STRIKE]go fly a kite[/STRIKE] :D ha ha ha - was well funny!!! Definately not ticked off the list yet, will definately take some practice :rotfl:
    • [STRIKE]hc x2 & line dry[/STRIKE] folded & put away :D
Ok even writing the list has sapped my energy! Happy rainy Saturday eveyrone x

La E :o I'm not that good. I bought a couple of dresses for our good friend's wedding so I am only returning one (can't return the lovely one I wore :D).

Still, thank you for saying that as typing this made me realise I am good as I have only kept the one nice new frock (It was from House of Fraser, so was the most expensive dress I've got, as I'm normally a Charity Shop girl). I do absolutely love the dress I am returning, but we don't go to posh places and it is too much of a party dress for the office, so it needs to go back. No point letting my wardrobe wear it. I am better off saving the money towards my other expenses.

I appreciate the encouragement as it is such a sweet frock and in my favourite colour, I will be sad to hand it over (but less sad to be better off :D).
