    Hi paul and posting

    You could try:-

    Click on 'Edit'
    then 'Preferences'
    then 'content'

There's two boxes, 'Enable Java' and 'Enable Java script'
    Untick these.

    Thanks bat999

    Do this ....

    1. Type about:config in Firefox's address bar.
    2. Filter down to the value for dom.max_script_run_time.
    3. Change the value to something higher than the default (which is 5).

    Should be OK now.

    Hi pchelpman

    Thanks for that.

Mine's set at 5 now, I'll up it later if I get the problem again.

    I've found a link too:- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Dom.max_script_run_time

Paul ... have never heard of the solution I posted NOT fixing the problem you describe. I don't know what more to say but these may help ...

    1. there's a new Firefox out now (yes, another one since you started this thread!) ... update to version 1.5.0.7 if you haven't already done so.

    2. Update your java .... you can go here and install the latest version ...

    http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

Then go to add/remove programs and uninstall any earlier versions ...

Keeping old versions on your computer and/or running an out-of-date version of java is an infection risk.

    3. Does the problem only occur with certain web pages (such as "secure" ones, "https" etc.)?

    3. Try using a different browser such as Opera (or, dare I say it, IE). Are you still getting the problem?

    Hope something here helps.
