Keep getting this message HELP !!!

Hi guys, over the last few days I keep getting this message below, I have never had it before and it is starting to get on my nerves now. I am running firefox and have not changed any settings on it so any help would be appreciated.

"A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete."

I then have an option to 'Stop Script' or 'Continue'

Many thanks

Paul

    Hi paul369uk
That's happened to me too. It only seems to happen on certain websites.
I think that Firefox is trying to run some complicated Java script that's been used on the page.
It's asking you if you really want to be bothered waiting for it - or just move on.
I don't think there's anything wrong with Firefox, it's just trying to save your time.
I usually opt to stop the script.
That's my version but there's probably a more technical explanation.

  • paul i get that too, only when playing games (ie yahoo games) but i forgot the message so i couldnt ask here, thanks hun...

Click 'Help' at the top of page, then 'Check for updates'

    Hi postingalwaysposting,
To update go to help, check for updates. A word of caution though last time I did this I lost all my bookmarks, so I would suggest exporting them first just in case, although this time I didn't lose them.

    Hi paul and posting

    You could try:-

    Click on 'Edit'
    then 'Preferences'
    then 'content'

There's two boxes, 'Enable Java' and 'Enable Java script'
    Untick these.

  • just done the update and didnt lose anything :j havent tryed it yet though as i am on my way out now and bat i havent got a preference tab under my edit :o
