Hello,

I just came across your comment that relates to my company.

If I may, I'd like to clarify our prices, as your comment is implying that we pay circa £8 / g for 22ct.

This is not the case. The rate you quoted was for 9ct gold on the day you went to our site. You can see a full breakdown of our rates via the 'scrap gold prices' page.

Apologies for jumping-in, I hope you don't mind me making this correction.

Regards,
Phil

Phil, please do not post here on this thread or any where on this forum acting on behalf of any company and/or firm without permission from the Admin team at MoneySavingExpert, as failing to do so will result in your account being blocked.

I recommend you remove your posts that are relating to the company until you have been given permission to post.

you need to approach abuse@moneysavingexpert.com to get forum permission to post first I'm afraid

All the same, the guys complaint is justified, they do not fall into the gold shark pool.
Their prices are ball park fair from what I can see.. Close to HGM.

DiggerUK, doesn't matter, rules are rules and Phil does not have permission to post on behalf of the firm/company in any shape or form at this moment in time.

And you don't have the authority to tell him what to do.

Ashtara I feel your pain but the only way to get over it is learn your lesson, move on and in time you'll feel better.
I 3 years ago bought a car I thought was good value for 14k. A week later the same car with lower mileage and a closer garage came up for 12k. I felt sick, but I got over it in time and now I don't buy anything big without research overload!

I find it funny how their website has a moneysavingepert banner saying voted Number 1?

I think its a laborious process to have to register permission to post. Would the opposite be better, encouraging communication between consumers and businesses? This does the opposite.

Anyway, I have sold a lot of things i have deeply regretted, one was a collection of things I had a few years back, I really regret it, more for the amount of hours I spent amassing it, not for the monetary cost. That cut me really deep!

Don't worry about it!

Does Kronkston have the right to post wrong information about Phil's website, possibly harming his business, with no right of recourse?

Seriously, who died and made you hall-monitor?

It's OK, even though Mr Williams' perfectly clear and reasonable response has been removed from the site sassy-one quoted it in full so that it wasn't lost for posterity.

Here it is again just in case it disappears.

loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.

I noticed that as well. A somewhat ironic touch from Sassy-one - it certainly made me smile.

This does encourage communication between businesses and consumers, it just prevents consumers talking with fraudsters...
