Car mis-sold!?!!
Comments

Most cars are imported OP
The car was not mis-sold to you, so sadly on your part, you have no rights regards such0 -
Go on....really...:rotfl::rotfl:
We are discussing a car that appears to be a grey import here, not the run of the mill imported car that was originally destined for the UK.;)
Yes, my point being most cars imported.
Just because the OP was not told what days the car was driven to church on and what cities it has been through does not give him any right to complain regards it being 'mis-sold' as it clearly has not been

Clearly you have totally missed the point, so I would advise that you comment no further on this matter that you clearly do not understand, before you make yourself look a real numpty.;)0 -

A numpty? Not very nice that is it?
This is a FREE forum and I will comment and give my option just as everyone else to entitled to do, and I ask you not to implie the word 'Numpty' in future

I never suggested for one moment that you were a " numpty ", I was just pointing out that if you continued giving ill informed advice that others may well see you as one.
You clearly do not fully understand the comments made by the OP, so your comments are less than helpful to him/ her, or anyone else for that matter.;)0 -
Just because your reg hasn't been found isn't really a worry -
1) A lot of car value sites do not recognise some number plates - I had a Honda one time and Car Craft did not have any record of the car reg, a call to there office in Newport showed nothing either.
2) My Mondeo is shown as a 2 litre on Ford's basic computer screen, until they open the full details up on the car when they can see its a 2.5 V6
3) If the insurance is fine, this could be because all is OK with the current recorded information held on file for your car
4) Try doing a free VIC check on your car on the DirectGov Website (DVLA) a simple Google search of 'VIC check' will bring the website up
5) If you wanted to look into this a little more, you could do a HPI check, however as I stated in my fisrt post in this thread, there are a lot of cars imported, and it is my option that, on this ground along just because when you were sold it you were not informed, does not mean the seller or garage has breached any code of conduct or law, therefore you have not been mis-sold the car.
If after all your attempts you still feel you have feelings and issues regarding the car's imported status, you could try contacting the garage/person whom sold you the car, and see what they may recommend; however I doubt this would shed much light on it as it's not the dealer/garage to know the cars full movements during it's previous life on the road.
If after contacting the dealer/garage you are still not happy, try contacting your local Trading Standards department, the number can be found in your Yellow pages on the first few pages in or a simply Google search should bring it up, and take advice from them on how to proceed forward.
I do hope you are able to get to the bottom of your 'issues' with you car, but personally I believe all is OK with your car

Hi,
I am assuming that the reason the OP is worried about having a car that is an import, because it might be difficult to re-sell ... or the re-sell value will not be as high as they thought.

Have a look at the V5C (logbook). It will say in section 3 on front page if it is an official import (i.e. used and registered in another country).

Why suggest this?
A VIC is a marker set against a vehicle that is an insurance Cat C write off, absolutely nothing to do with whether a vehicle is imported or not.* Rainbow baby boy born 9th August 2016 *
