  • Now that Microsoft has given up responsibility for Money, do you think it will worry if Money gets loaded on to other computers. I was the treasurer of a church and I kept the details on Money 2004 on a Vista computer. The person who is taking over from me has Money 2003, and I can not seem to move the Money 2004 files into the Money 2003 program. I still have the instllation disk for Money 2004 so I just wonder whether I could install it on to the church computer or would that breach copyright?

Also, regarding the sunset versions, my version is just called Money 2004 and is not Essentials, Deluxe, Premium Home or Business so which sunset version should I go for?

    Thanks

I can't see how that would breach copyright especially as the latest version is now freely available. There great sexy fun to be had.

Just a warning to users of non-us versions of Money who are thinking of downloading this:
"The Sunset versions are able to open and convert Money Plus files and files from older versions of Money (e.g. Money 2006, Money 2007). The Sunset version cannot convert files created by regional (non-US) versions of Money "
Come on people, it's not difficult: lose means to be unable to find, loose means not being fixed in place. So if you have a hole in your pocket you might lose your loose change.

That is quite correct I'm afraid.
It is the US version only and will not open or convert UK files (due to Fiscal rules enbodied in the programme/file)
This is very bad news for someone like myself who has to keep an old windows xp machine (still the best o/s they ever made but that's another story) jyust to keop my money files available for tax inspection.
My versions of money don't work on vista (what does?)
So it looked like a great idea but.....
.....doesn't actually work or so it seems.

I have tried renaming the file but that doesn't work either..if you find a workaround please let me know!

Try right clicking the setup icon and installing it as an administrator.

Just downloaded the susnset version of this as have a new PC with no CD drive and cannot import my backup. Works first time then says a file is missing please reinstall (looks to be something to do with the budget planner) Have tried re installing my original 2005 version but seem to remember that after install it needed to update a file which it is not now doing so will not recognise my existing file. Anyone any ideas ?

  • I've been using money plus for some very basic book keeping but I could do with a little advice. For ease, all I'm using is the account register but I'm having problems with printing. When I print out the account register it doesn't print the info I've put in the "memo" box. Am I doing something wrong ? Is there a way of including the memo notes in a print out ?

Thanks, I have just seen this link, and have been looking for a system that I had once used on an old laptop but lost. Hopefully I will get on better with this system then I did trying to do my own spreadsheets- disaster.

Many may want to consider a free, legal, download of Money 2005, UK edition

    http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=26915

Works on Win 7, XP & Vista

The restore from backup of older Money works fine, did it myself

The interface & controls may take a bit of practice, but i have no problems after using it for a fortnight on W7

Beware of installing without backing up your old version data, this one deletes the old programme & data, in typical Microsoft manner it is not backward compatible & does not update the older version, it installs completely new, just make sure you have saved copies of old data
