I was caught speeding the other and ive had a letter from the police about the offence saying i exceeded the speed of 40mph, anyone know what happens next, there was a form for me to fill in with address etc. The letter says "procedures are being considered against the driver (me) for driving motor vehicle", with having no points or bans etc what would happen. I know ive done wrong so im not trying to run away from it but wnat to whats next

is that it, its filled in, they obviously dont offer a speed awareness course,
thanks
the way the letter was worded it sounded like court was the next step, how long do the points stay
it says i was over the limit but it dont say by how much, it was at most 10 mph0 -

thanks, lesson learned i guess0 -
I have had this before i sent it all off and then recieved a letter sayin no further action was going to be taken. It is only an intended prosecution at the moment. but if the road speed has always been the same and they got you im afraid they got you unless there are circumstances which you must enclose with the letter.0

I think they are only offered for exceeding a 30 limit by less than 9 mph.
Of course they are likely to be scrapped along with speed cameras in lots of places.0
