so angry with sky !

We have sky + and our monthly bill is £51

we signed up and had to pay £28 upfront so our first bill was only £23 ..they tried to take it out but i didnt get paid till the day after so i got charges which is my fault. so they sent me a letter with a giro slip which i used to pay at the post office .

two days later the £23 goes out of my bank :/

I rang them and told them about it and said they would deduct it from next months bill which was due this morning!

i left £30 in bank to cover the direct debit .....checked my online banking this morning and was overdrawn because sky had taken the full £51 so now i am left with charges.

Have rang sky they was most unhelpful ! said that i could have it taken off next months bill or could have it paid back to me but would take a few days to come back to my bank . They wont do anything about the charges from my bank.

Have asked them to send me a payment slip to take to the post office in future and he didnt want to said it would be better an easier if i did it by direct debit..

told him i wanted to speak to his manager ....and i am still waiting for a call back !!

If you manage your account online, you can see how much Sky are charging every month and change payment due date.

Was it your choice to only leave £30 in the bank? If you could afford to leave more then why did you not leave it in the account?

To be fair guys i earn a decent wage but have a standing order for all billls and direct debits to another account to ensure everything is always paid (learned from mistakes) perhaps the above poster does something similar before we judge. If you do do what i do i have a £100 free overdraft to ensure if Sky are at it (and they are the ones that usually are, changing payment dates etc) then the overdraft covers for such things

That's my point though, if through a personal choice, the OP has only left so much money in an account as you do then why would Sky pay for charges when it was a personal choice to leave only so much in the account.

Not having a go just trying to understand where the OP is coming from.
