Have you considered a life of balance card hun. I hate 0% cards because it's so easy to undo 6 months work in 1 month if you can't transfer to another!

You can get 3.9% for life now so might be a better option!

Now I'm a year into this DFW thing and I've only cleared £6K which is rubbish.
Right Mrs, read that sentence back to yourself....now imagine someone else saying it......what would you say to them??

You would say: £6k in a year - that's not rubbish, it's fab!! It might not be exactly what you wanted to achieve but for goodness sake, you've just had a baby, and a very adorable baby at that.....so if debt repayment has taken a back seat temporarily, that's not surprising. Don't be so hard on yourself.

    Okay, nag over!! :D:D

Sending you a (((hug))) because you sound a bit down about things xxx

Now that's an idea- I think I should investigate that. Thing is, the CC will be cleared when we sell the house but it's been on the market for 3 weeks and no one seems to want it. Oh dear, I am feeling sorry for myself tonight :o

You're selling at a good time though, summer is on it's way and the sun always makes houses look their best. Hopefully you wont have to wait too long for an offer.

Mrs S, £6k is not rubbish at all, its brilliant! :T You are £6k less in debt, that's got to be a good thing!

Thomas looks adorable, you should be so proud of him and you.

Just keep posting here and we'll keep you on the wagon. Well, this lot will, I'm off in a few weeks to work in america for the summer with very little internet access  , but I'll be sending good vibes :D

Blimey, didn't realise it was so long since I updated this. I haven't updated my signature for such a long time but hey, I've broken the £20K barrier at last!!!!

I have good news. We've sold the house to someone who wants to exchange very quickly (in 3 weeks, she'll be lucky...) and we've found another one with enough room for the 3 of us and all our clutter. We will be clearing all our debt and moving from a 2 bedroom house to a 4 bedroom one and our monthly outgoings are going to be less! :rotfl:

More good news is that I'm changing jobs in a couple of weeks time too. Same company but different location... 10 minutes walk from home. So that saves me £140 a month on train fares which I promise I will put straight into a savings account and not fritter it away.

You would be proud of me actually- hubby really wants us to put a lower deposit down on the new house and get a bigger mortgage so we can do a bit of work on the house. I have put my foot down and have said we can each save what we would have spent on credit card bills and then in a year's time we'll have a few thousand to do the work. Do you think Martin's message finally hit home then? :o
