02 - upgrade or new contract
Options
I thought I'd share this irritating story with you.
I'm out of contract with 02, and was looking for an iPhone 4. Based on TCO calculations and my usage, I was trying to get a phone from Tesco, but that is like looking for chicken teeth on the moon.
So eventually I gave in and bought the phone online at 02. 24 hours after my purchase, I realized that I had in fact ordered a extra contract, rather than upgrading my current contract and mobile. After a very helpful call to customer services, they agreed to transfer my number over to the new contract and cancel my existing one.
I then suddenly thought that I probably could have bought my phone for cheaper if I had upgraded rather than bought it new. After a quick look on the site, I actually saved £70 by starting off a new contract rather than upgrading my existing contract which I have had for the past 7 years!
Looks like they are the same as the Car Insurers.
