Vodafone itemised billing

Having taken out a carphone warehouse/vodafone contract nine months ago my contract has now switched over to vodafone completely. They are charging £1.28 for itemised billing though they advertise free online billing if you register. I tried to do this and was told there is a problem with carphone warehouse accounts which could take up to 4 more months. They were sorry but insisted that I would continue to be charged. After 15 mins of asking to speak to a senior person they eventually relented and dropped the charge. Disappointed with the service but at least it is now sorted.
Surely they can't advertise a cheaper service then tell you not only can you not get it but you will have to continue paying for a paper bill you don't really want.

Hi,
I work for Vodafone and I’m sorry that this wasn’t sorted out more quickly.
I’ve checked with our online billing team, and it’s true that Carphone Warehouse customers who now have their accounts managed by Vodafone cannot currently access Vodafone online billing.
However, as from October 1st, you should be able to, and you’ll simply need to visit https://www.vodafone.co.uk/myvodafone to sign up.0
