Tiscali making it hard for people to leave

Friend of mind tried to get a Mac from Tiscali and they said they were not issuing them anymore. No doubt in an effort to stop the loss of business to better or free suppliers of Broadband.
You can of course cancel and restart with another supplier,but this means you lose service for a while.
