Anyone know about the status of so-called PAYG phones bought directly from Nokia?

I wanted to buy a particular colour Nokia and it seems to be available only with a Vodafone top-up. Don't mind having a spare SIM, but wonder whether it is locked to them as well.

    it should state on the site wether it is unlocked or not, or try mobiles.co.uk and see if they have the phone there as they seem to be the cheapest at the moment and you can get £6 cashback from quidco, i have ordered two phones the past weeks no problems and both unlocked
