Ma is DOING MY HEAD IN...argh.she is so childlike in her thinking and won't give me space or even acknowledge how I feel and is constantly making demands when I'M NOT WONDERWOMAN. And half the time she doesn't even realise she's doing it and the rest of the time she has an excuse...

Like this am's text - you're friends are strange because they are having an end of the world party - translated - you're friends need to see a shrink!!!

So I phone and pass comment on her bible reading - don't understand Ezekiel - (minor prophet OT) - well I told you months ago to get a simple commentary - Might have a break in the new year for 2-3 months (this is tantramount to soul starvation in my book) - translated - this is doing my head in, going to have a break for 2-3 months beginning of year because I want to regardless of what you say or that you're more knowledgable et al on this one than me.
    ARGH.....

Sorry guys just needed a rant..

Now I need vols for housework...

Silly question, what kind of bag and do I keep it sealed when it goes in the sugar? I don't use sugar for much, only baking, so that sounds good.

Does it have to be the flowers? That sounds really nice though. I didn't realise lavender could be used like any other herb (doh) so I might try experimenting.

If anyone's near Leeds you're welcome to come and get some!

I'm no good at gardening either, my neighbours do it for me. None of us really have gardens, but I've got a big raised bed, and my neighbours did the work for the guy who lived here before so it's carried on.

This weather's doing my head in, I was really cold so I got out my new slanket, and now I'm too hot. I just wish it'd make it's mind up!

Yes Ames, it does specify the actual flowers, but maybe you could try the buds before they actually open or whatever.
Lavender is actually part of the mint family, but i guess we just dont think of lavender in terms of cooking as it's more commonly known as being used to fragrance things. The only words of caution are, start slowly... if you use too much it can be really overpowering and nasty. Also, make sure you never use any pesticides on your own lavender bushes, they're not usually needed tho to be honest, but it's always wise to be aware that when using lavender, if you are buying it, you must specify culinary lavender!.
I'm sorry i didnt get round to posting anything yesterday, i had to go offline as i had a friend with a crisis and never got back online. If you still need recipes let me know, i have quite a few stashed away for all sorts of weird and wonderful things!.
