find a price you are prepared to pay, phone them up and try to get it lower, then never ever recheck.

We got a good deal with Hays for christmas, managed to get over £100 off the total by quoting prices I would pay separately.

Ask for the £100 off price, if they say no then just go to Skegness instead.;)

A lot of people get paid on Fridays, so someone might be waiting til the morning to book it.

How much are the alternatives on your reserve list?
Good point. I wonder if Thomson will raise their prices in anticipation of that?

The other accommodation is about half the cost (& about a quarter as nice).

NEVER check prices after booking, otherwise you may become one of those annoying posters on here who title their thread

    "ripped off"

"I booked a holiday yesterday and then a week later it had gone down by £100..I want them to reduce the price I have paid but they wont etc etc"

As for the holiday being cheaper tomorrow...nobody on here knows

I was just wondering if anyone knows how Thomson generally play these things. I wasn't looking for an absolute answer just a general idea as to whether they hold out for a high price right until the last hour & risk not selling the holiday at all, or if they offer their holidays with a larger discount in the last 24/48 hours so that they at least get some money back.

Just to update - the holiday disappeared off the face of the earth overnight, sadly. Should've booked it last night! It didn't say 'Hurry, only 1/2/3/4 rooms remaining' as it did on other listed accommodation, so I guess they have a deal with the hotel to return any unsold rooms, or something like that.

Ah well, it might have taught me something (but then again...).

    Skegness, here we come!

The price going up can be an indicator that they have less availability, the holiday we just booked has now increased in price as they have three more bums on seats on the plane so have cranked the price up a bit.

Better get looking for something else then, although Tuesday looks quite nice...

This time take a decent price and don't look back.;)

More likely the plane is now full.

    Re-check your search.
