What was the problem with Primrose Valley out of curiosity?
For the Craig Tara complaint, someones bought a caravan and allowed Haven to rent it for them (as your aware). If it was as bad as you say, I would have complained immediately to have the situation resolved, not wait till I was home again.
Primrose Valley:
Just a few of the problems :
I paid £330 for 3 nights - I was expecting it to be luxurious. It wasnt.
There was supposed to be an outside decking area
The caravan was dirty - especially the toilet
Heating didnt work and didnt get sorted until day 3
TV advertised as 'modern flatscreen TV' was so small you could hardly see it
DVD player didnt work until day 3
Water kept going cold
Beds not made up until 10pm on first night
Went out for breakfast on second morning - food was cold and of poor quality (couldnt eat it), floor in 'restaurant' was filthy, staff were overworked and could not help
Went out to 'the club' on first night - say no more what a !!!!hole!
To name but a few! it was horrible - I could have stayed in a decent hotel for less money - it was a complete rip off.0 -
When we went to Primrose Valley the caravan was terrible, toilet seat was in the shower, huge holes in the walls where someone had punched it through, paper hanging off.
It couldn't have been touched by the cleaners, they come good tho they put us in a top of the range caravan with big LCD TV and central heating0 -

QUOTE FROM MY ORIGINAL POST
Of course we went to reception to enquire were we actually allocated the caravan of another holidaying family but what had actually happened was that the caravan we were in was being sub-let to us by the owner - arranged through haven !
Scotsman4th - as you will see , i DID go to reception to report the problem . It just so happened that even though i went to reception TWICE during my stay to complain they did absolutely nothing about it !
Hence the reason i then lodged another complaint with the site when i got home...this complaint was also ignored , i then lodged ANOTHER complaint but this time with head office.
I have recieved a letter from head office saying they will look into matters and reply to me by letter within 28 days.
Trust me lol if you knew me you would not for one second doubt that i would complain lol , if theres something i dont like about a certain thing i make complaints , i am VERY VOCAL !0 -
I know a lot of people that have used Haven for a lot of years and TBH, have only heard of 1 "real" complaint. That was dealt with by giving a free week (they went to Craig Tara for the free week and loved it, brand new caravan).
If I had experienced your Craig Tara experience, I would have left TBH unless it was sorted there and then to my satisfaction.
Lifeisbutadream. again, ESPECIALLY in your case. I would have been moved or been leaving.0 -

I wish I had left now, but I was on my own with the kids and they would have been so upset0 -

Leaving wasnt really an option for us tbh....we had travelled over to Craig Tara from BELFAST. Possibly if we had lived in Scotland and had travelled there by car i WOULD have left but as i say with us it just wasnt possible.
I have been in Craig Tara on three occasions and the other two times were great...this time we had the issue with the owners belongings and another issue i had to raise at reception was the people in the caravan next to ours . It was also an owned caravan and i think the family who were staying in it were relatives of the owners .They had 3 children on holiday with them and from the second those kids opened their eyes in the morning they were out on the veranda , screaming , yelling , bouncing a ball contiuously or else CRYING ! This went on every single day we were there from early morning til gone 11pm.
Now before anyone reminds me that haven is FOR kids....i have three kids myself but never have my kids made the racket those kids did !
For anyone thinking of going to Craig Tara , dont let this put you off , as i say , i have been there 3 times and this is the first year i have ever had a complaint0 -
Thanks for all the responses. I agree that i wouldn't have complained if they had made an effort to sort things. There was only 2 of us but it was a caravan for 8 so i would have liked to see a family cook with a tiny roasting dish.
how do i post photos?0 -
