Can I get my contract down?

So I got a free HTC Hero on 24month contract £30 a month and its been nearly 12 months and well I hardly use the minutes and texts, if I phoned up orange do you think they'd reduce the monthly cost? Also the plan i'm on now costs £25 a monthon the website (carphonewarehouse), will the fact it was bought from the carphonewarehouse change anything?

They'll recude it by one tariff at the midway point of the contract

Will I have to do anything to get them to reduce it at the midpoint like call them ?

yes you need to call them and tell them you want to reduce it, they'll tell you what plans are available at the below pricepoint
