I seriously cannot afford another driving test!!

I just failed my 3rd driving test an hour ago and I am livid because I would have passed if i didn't make one stupid mistake! Anyway I am quite poor and can just about pay for my tests but I don't want to pay for another one. i feel sick and angry! I don't mind failing but the cost of the test is what hurts most! Is ther ANY way I can get funding on these tests? I really need to drive to help me get jobs and I am on JSA.

How are you going run a car if you can't even afford the Test fee?

Maybe the OP justs wants a driving job.
My advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience.

If you want the luxury of being able to drive legally, you have to pay for it, same as the rest of us.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

If you failed over one thing it means it was so serious you would cause a crash if you repeated the fault.

So maybe you need more practice for your own safety and ours!

Not a chance as a newly qualified driver.

Not only do you need to pay for another Driving Test, you also clearly need additional lessons, if you cannot afford to pay for them.

Well sorry, tough luck, that is just the way it is.

There are millions of people that would like something that they cannot afford.

Contrary to popular rumour, you don't need a car or a driving licence to find a job. Ask anyone working down the local McDonald's or in your local retail park / shopping mall / business park / office where you stay indoors all day. Many people even work from home. Walk to your local train station at 8am to see hundreds of other people all on their way to work... without a car.

By all means, contact the employment service (or whatever it's called now) to ask about funding, but as previous posters have said, you'll be lucky as there are so many alternatives. In my day, the DSS would only pay cheapest bus fare to a job interview if you were really stuck.

There is a scheme my local area where they will give you one of those cheap Chinese 50cc scooters (free long term loan of) and pay for the CBT. This is to get you to a job where as if you didn't have the use of the scooter you would be unemployed due to no transport links.

I bet they are rough in winter! :o

as others have said i doubt the DSS will fund your licence but you may be able to get a reduced rate oyster card which would help getting about and to interviews, once you get some work then you can work on getting the licence. Its how most of us got ours. Good luck finding some work and getting on the road

    Why not get a scooter?

Much much cheaper to run. Cars are so bloody expensive!
