I sold a laptop for £335 the other day, winner paid via echeques so waiting for it to clear.... Next day he sent me a msg said he had a change of circumstances and could he have a refund??!! He has offered me £20 for my time..
I have relisted the laptop, but what about fees as he has paid me?? I could keep the money and tell him to sell it himself, but i am a nice guy (i think!)...

I'd accept that. £20 is a very fair offer for messing you about, isn't it?
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
Be understanding? I dunno, ask him what circumsatnces and check he's not bidding a cheaper one!:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

well, you have to wait for the echeque to clear, before you can refund payment. if you click into the orginal Paypal payment to refund, your fees will be reimbursed.
and if you go back into 'my ebay', items sold, click on the drop down arrow, and select payment not received, and click that you and buyer have mutually agreed not to complete, and you will get your ebay FVF's back.
you can do a advanced search, left hand menu, items by bidder, then enter their ebay username. voila!0 -
Yep you can

Go there, choose "Items By bidder" and put their username in
edit: beaten to it0 -

I am not sure if echeques can be cancelled by the sender, I am sure someone here can clarify this, I would be cautious, it could be a scam, he may be offering you £20 in the hope you will be gullible enough to refund the balance before the echeque has cleared, they may then cancel it and that will be the last you hear of them, it may well not be the case but it is worth considering."As if by magic... the shopkeeper appeared."0

DO NOT refund until the e-cheque has CLEARED. (10+ days)
This could be a scam. If you refund him beforehand, the e-cheque will magically bounce!!!!British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
well i havent refunded him yet. Dont think he is a scammer, he has been buying bits and bobs, no other expensive stuff
It gets worse, i got a really crap price for the laptop 2nd time around, £260. Cancelling his original bid, it would of gone for £325 - thats £65 more!! His £20 seems poor now. So i have sent him a email saying he either pays the difference or the laptop is his.... I am not going to be £45 out of pocket and be a nice guy - got mouth's to feed!0
