Thanks for all your replies. I have been back in touch with Kiwk-fit head office but they are sticking to there guns. I called the trading standards and explained my story. They are saying that I cannot prove the front springs etc didn’t need doing even though it didn’t stop the banging noise. They think at best I can demand a new set of tyres (less the mileage) from when they are supposed to have originally tracked my car. I’m so peed of with this company I feel It is not worth bothering with. How can theses guy get away with robbery like this..

I would love to have an car with expertly diagnosed faults, then put it into a few of theses companies to show bad and wide spread this money making misdiagnosis really is throughout the industry . Anyone with any ides pm me.
sorry to hear you didn't get any further but take the new tyres and never use them again.
I had to laugh at some of the above replies re the work needed doing.
using this logic - the guy who's coming to paint my window frames starts work tomorrow at 7a.m, just as I leave for work. when I return I should expect brand new windows fitted with the message 'the work needed doing mate'!
    steer clear in future.

Just thought i'd let you guys know i have e-mail Kwik-fit a link to this thread. I'm sure they will drop in at some stage. the comments above just might steer them towards the thinking of ... "you can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can't fool all the people all the time". Lets hope so.

I had an exhaust fitted to my Nova back in the early 90's it started blowing whilst under warranty so I went back to the KF place, they said I needed a new exhaust system so I said OK put it on it's under warranty. In that case it only needs a back box was the response, yeah right it needed a full system when muggins was paying but not when they were, I don't think so. I complained to the HQ and was directed to another branch for a full system, I have never been back since.

I wouldn't use KF if I had to drive 200 miles to the next garage for tyres or exhausts.
