Hi there! This is the Old Style Daily Thread for Tuesday 3 August 2010. It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
[*]As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
[*]When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
[*]Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just fine.
Morning all
Sunny here today.
Hubby's had his breakfast & been dropped at the station with his packup.
First load of washing is on the line, 2nd load in the machine, DW is on & I've weeded the front garden.
Last night I finished yet another blanket & I'm not starting another one for at least a week! Today I'm going to make some bunting, make DD a top from a dress, make some seat cushion covers & maybe have a go at some button bracelets.
Sausages for tea tonight & I need to make a fresh loaf as we are nearly out of bread.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning Hester & everyone else
Overcast again, but forecast says we'll have a bit of sun later. Baby awake (as always!) so having first cuppa of the day, before hitting the ground running.
Today I need to:
- buy wedding card, present & cardi/overshirt to wear with dress for wedding (Sat)
- wash & iron
- do some batch cooking/baking to freeze
- measure DS' bed to see if it'll fit in small bedroom
- start de-junking dining room
Tea hasn't been christened yet, so off for that cuppa & to make a few lists!
Have a good morning all, see you later.

Morning OS lovlies,
Bright and beautiful here today, we had a terrific storm last night, thunder and lightening, which made the lights flicker, and knocked the internet askew, only lasted 1/2 hr, and then it was bright again, seems to have cleared the air.
Work today, will have a tidy before I go, dd can clean her room this morning, this afternoon she is off to meet her friend from primary school, who we now live near.
Dinner tonight is egg bacon and chips for the others, I will have egg bacon and some mushrooms. Need to put a wash on whenin a moment, will get dd to hang it out. I also have a sainsbugs delivery tonight, assuming I have the right day this week
Forums are going down soon, so I'll see you on the other side
, have good days all xx 0 -
Good Morning All
Lovely & sunny here at the moment but I don't think its meant to last
Have loads to do as we are going away for a long weekend to Pontins tomorrow :j there's about 22 of us this year and am looking forward to it.
We have someone house-sitting so need to clean the house, do washing, ironing & pack (most dreaded job). Also make sure office is up straight.
No idea what is for tea - something out of the freezer then no cooking for me for 4 days :T
Hope you all have wonderful days.x0 -
Hya HardupHester, Cheapskate, redruby and everyone,
Really bright and fresh here this morning. We had lots of rain here yesterday so no other watering needed:)
Today I need to find my dining room under all the clutter!
Dinner tonight needs to be something that goes with runner beans. Had hm cottage pie from freezer yesterday with hm red wine gravy from freezer and lashings of French beans. Gave a bag of them to DD1 and NN, all happily received.
DH made steak & mushroom pie mixture for the freezer. So that is 2 meals ready for our holiday and some hm peppercorn sauce to go with a steak or chicken breast meal.
HH glad to hear DD is well, wish her all the best.
Have a good day all, cheers0 -

I know what you mean. We've had courgettes every night so far this week  Never again am I growing 3 plants
Morning everyone.
Back is slowly getting better. By the time I wake up though I feel really stiff and uncomfortable. Still makes me get out of bed as the sooner I am up and moving the better it feels
Just having my first coffee before I have a leisurely breakfast. Taking kids to soft play this morning. No housework plans but I do have to hang up some washing. Question is do I do it outside or in? It's bright and a tiny bit sunny but quite cool. However the is the usual cloud coming so don't know whether to risk it on the line.
Not sure about tea tonight - seem to have gone off the boil for that side of things lately. Again.
DD is being a right whingy so and so this morning. Have a feeling today will be a looooooooooooong day
Hester - Can I have some of whatever you're on? I need a little pick me up
Bargainbird - how do you do lasagne in the SC? Do you layer it as you would in a dish with the pasta sheets etc?? Not tried that one before.
Hugs to those that need them. Have a good day OS or not.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

Morning all
See they've changed the forum close time....someone slept in
I'm off work :j and christened the start of my holiday with a bottle of red wine last night
Have some MS work to do today and then pack this evening to go to mums in the morning with DD - need an early night as DH has to leave at 4:45 for an hours work and I have to leave at 6am.
WM is on and DW will be next - just organinsing breakfast for then I'll get a coffee and by then the painkillers will have kicked in. DS-K's are off to their mums today so need to drop them off too and will stick them in the bath first.
dinner will be something with sausages and I might try and do a meal plan for DH and the boys over the weekend but I suspect it would be more useful putting the number of a takeaway for each day instead! DH did say he would do an Icel*nd shop as he can cope with things from there and as we know he needs adult supervision for proper cooking....:rotfl:

Hi, I did used to post on here a while ago but then got a lttle lost in the os ways, I need to jump back on the wagon and I have been lurking here for inspiration so now is the time to jump back in.
Im Louise SAHM of a DD age 10 and Ds age 4, I live with my partner. We started to buy our house 3 years ago and are now feeling the strain a little so I need to find my old styleness again and start budgeting and saving for a cushion and that C word.
Today I need to tidy the house bake some bannana bread and take the kiddlies out for a bike ride.
Im looking forward to being able to fit in, join in and get to know you all better. If you will have me.
