Very odd layout indeed

Can't help but think this house is very oddly laid out - master bedroom in the basement, other beds on first and second floors.

Firstly, do people want to have their bath actually in their bedroom, rather than an en-suite?

Secondly, it's a 4 bed house. A lot of people looking at it will have children, and might perhaps think they need to be closer at night than 2-3 floors away!

Bath in the master is really funny, and the whole thing looks like someone has tried to convert some building into a flat :-)

Call me fussy, but with a price tag of close to £1m, I'd insist on a seperate bathroom! (unless I was a live in landlord and had particularly attractive tenants!!)

I would class that house as a 2 bedroom with basement.

The master bedroom is just a basement with a bath. Bathroom features for it seem to be scattered around (toilet looks as though it is halfway up the stairs, wash basins block the walk through to the garden. I think not. The 'bedroom' on the first floor, in any normal house would be classed as an office/studio.

I'd quite like a bath in the bedroom providing it was big enough. I'd draw the line at a toilet though. There's another bathroom somewhere else.

Can see the advantages of being some floors away from the kids (mine are old enough)

Looks like they have a dungeon too?

It could well be that a wall has been left off the floorplan by mistake I suppose. Otherwise its a bit of an odd layout.

Pretty standard for a townhouse to be weirdly spready out especially in older buildings like that.

I'd class it as either a 4 bed 2 reception or 3 bed 3 reception.

Apart from the odd layout (only access to the garden through the basement bedroom?) it's on Bayham Street: on the one-way system from the bottom of Camden Road down to Mornington Crescent. That's a lot of heavy traffic both day and night and I wonder how often the current owners find vomit on their front door-step on Saturday and Sunday mornings. I wouldn't dream of spending £900k to live there

London has it's own property rules to everywhere else.
My mates parents live in Knightsbridge and they sold their garage, just their garage for £550,000

No, it looks as if the balc0ony on the ground floor has stairs down to the garden.

I agree about the road, though.

Not quite that weird, though, esp. the bath in the bedroom!

I like it... bedroom in the basement means it's quiet and private, and keeps your separate from your guests (I wouldn't have children in there, I'd be a lady of luxury with adult houseguests!). And the bath is certainly a nice idea - I've been to see penthouses with sunken baths in the master bedroom and it's very indulgent.

I've got a three-storey townhouse (would be four-storeys with a little loft work) and my Mum's always trying to convince me to put a bedroom on the bottom floor! She reckons Sarah Beeny would recommend it...
