Can anyone help me to find who I complain to about paint quality?

My Dad has been using Dulux products for years (he's a decorator) and since they were bought by another company the quality of the paint has gone down hill fast.

I've looked about online but don't have a clue who to write to about it... Several complaints to Dulux have got us nowhere.
Is there an ombudsman for this type of thing?

I'm new to this forum but have read a lot of threads and people seem to be knowlegable about this sort of thing...

Thanks in advance...

Do you wish to return the product, or just generally complain? There is no paint ombudsman.
    Gone ... or have I?

Dulux paint has always been crap, if he has always used it, he wouldnt have known the difference if he didnt try anything else.

Until now that is, when theres another even crappier paint being used.

Just vote with his feet and buy another brand. But inform Dulux anyway of what youre doing and why.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

Is it anything to do with this smelly paint theyre reporting?
    Back by no demand whatsoever.
  • Some of the paint has already gone back to the Dulux supplier and complaining to them has got us nowhere.

It is a general complaint about the quality... I couldn't find an ombudsman but I thought someone might have had the same problem and could point me in the right direction.

Any ideas would be gratefully recieved...
  • Nah, it's not the smell, it's the quality. It's thin and doesn't cover well and takes so long to dry it's crazy. It's also patchy... And this is proffesional quality paint that decorators use. My Dad's been a decorator for over 50 years and has never seen Dulux paint of this bad quality. He's had to do a clients house again as well as some of his own house.
Needless to say he's getting a bit pee'd off with things.

lmao! as a side note though, i do actually believe crown etc when they said their paint wasnt to blame for the smell. I used 2 of crowns breatheasy and they didnt smell at all.

Although strangely, the darker of the 2 took more coats than the lighter shade.

OP.....i know you said your dad was a painter and decorator but he's not painting over patterned/dark wallpaper is he? I mean exactly how many coats are we talking here?

Nah, he's not painting over wallpaper either. My Dad always strips off old walpaper and preps walls before painting. He always has.
And the other paint at his own house is on prepared woodwork.
