Nokia 5230: risks with cheap cashback deal?

I'm thinking of getting a Nokia 5230 through buymobilephones.net. After cashback from them, I can get a t-mobile contract with unlimited data for £3.33/month for 18months. There's also a possible £30 quidco.

Is it risk to do this, though? - would be an expensive contract if BMP doesn't pay the cashback. Also, there's a small chance I might end up working out of the country within 18 months. If so, could I give the phone to a friend in exchange for them processing the cashback claims?

Alternative would just be to pay about £80 for the phone on PAYG.

Don't count on the quidco cashback because one of the major affiliate company's have just gone bust and amongst others it seems that buymobilephones.net was one of their clients.

You should never rely on the cashback anyway but just regard it as a bonus if you get it ;)

Thanks. Not counting on quidco - that would just be a nice bonus - but BMP cashback would be a pain if it doesn't show.

I understand your concerns as there seems to have been some late payments by them recently.
I assume you've read the thread regarding BMP ?

I've reserved on of these in Argos - http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/redir/5d857493?id=3196X602032&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.argos.co.uk%2Fwebapp%2Fwcs%2Fstores%2Fservlet%2FProductDisplay%3FstoreId%3D10001%26catalogId%3D1500002451%26langId%3D-1%26productId%3D1500802963

£70 + £10 top-up, PAYG on t-mobile. Not sure if this is a decent deal for one of the phones - guess it depends on what t-mobile's charges are like?

I personally would "hold fire" with Buymobilephones, as Silk states, they are not paying out on time.
This means they are actually breaking their T&C's, something we are not allowed to do - if we break the T&C's, we lose our cashback.
They may have legitimate problems, hence the wait, but there could also be other issues which would make this company more of a gamble/high risk.
Wait or use another dealer (CPW or P4U group of companies - P4U group if possible, but not many great cheap deals).

Thanks. Tempted to just go with a PAYG handset - just need to look at t-mobile's tariffs etc...
