There is a shortage of plumbers (and several other trades in construction). Ask around and get recommendations. If you have used another trade in the past who you were happy with then ask them. Don't be too fussy about where the plumber is from; you are not running a cricket team.0

my answer would be no well i dont know of any anymore lol father in law is one but retired now in fact the last time i had a plumber round we were charged 35.00 for him to put a new washer in the tap in the bathroom!"You have succeeded in life when all you really want is only what you really need"

What do you want doing?
Many trades people (especially if they are busy) aren't interested in small jobs as there's not enough profit in it. They'll tell you they'll be round to give you a quote, then hope you'll try somone else when they don't show.
Tell them you are building 3 houses and need a quote to plumb them all and I'm guessing they'll be knocking your front door down in the rush.....0 -
They do, but they're like hens teeth - and apparently mostly Polish!I have plenty of willpower - it's won't power I need.

Cheers! now I know it's not just me...
I think fitting a new bathroom, shower and radiator isn't that small a job? Maybe I should try the 3 houses.....

In any trade/business you're going to want to be pulling in around £80 per hour minimum, so a call out with, say, 10 minutes work might end up using half and hour and that's £40.the last time i had a plumber round we were charged 35.00 for him to put a new washer in the tap in the bathroom
Small jobs will be disproportionally expensive.Happy chappy0 -
