How much do you spend a week on groceries?

Usually about £150 pw two adults and one child - includes packed lunches
We have the money so that's not an issue, but would love to bring it down but can't manage it (I know I could if I really tried) but we just don't have the choice of supermarkets and they bump the prices up because of "freight charges"0 -
I've been spending £100-120, for two adults, two older teens, one dog and one cat. But I am now unemployed and money is very, very, tight. I can't claim a lot in benefits due to hubby's wage, and our rent is very expensive (no point moving, it's an expensive area, and hubby already has a long commute to work).
I need to be spending £350 a month on groceries, just so we break even, it's going to be tight.0 -
Hmm for the 2 of us including toiletries, about £100 every fortnight for tescos delivery, and then little bits and bobs from co op. Why is it I can get a meal for us for £3 when I plan and get it delivered, but if I pop into a supermarket it ends up costing me £20 with all the extras! Since I started shopping online saved so much money because there are no (well hardly any!) impulse buys! I also do an Aldi trip every month to stock up on basics. Then add on expensive cat food (they definitely eat better than us!) So I guess about £90 a week, including lunches, steak on a Saturday and a nice joint for roast0

About £50 a week at the moment, just for me. I'm not debt-busting any more and looking to increase my health by following the adage "you are what you eat" first and foremost. Lots of fresh produce, small amounts of lean protein and fresh fruit. I shop in Waitrose as their salad stuff actually lasts longer than 2 days.Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j

I always find it hard to work out an average, as we bulk buy things like loo roll and cleaning stuff which will last several months! We currently have 36 loo rolls and 2 litres of listerine which will last a while! We do one big shop at Aldi every 5-6 weeks at around £80, which fills the cupboards, then proably £30 a week in Tesco/ butchers/ greengrocers/ market getting milk, bread veg etc, though always look at offers so some weeks we will spend £80 in groceries, next week about £10 if that so very variable. Is just me and OH at home, though we entertain a bit so does bump up costs, though the MIL invites us round quite often so is swings and roundabouts, so to speakI love food, hate waste and have a penchant for sparkly things ::D

Too much! Some of you guys are doing brilliantly. Just for me I spend maybe £20-£40? £25 big shop each week and then bits and bobs i need specifically in the week.that includes everything like toiletries/cleaning stuff/binbags etc.mind you i do buy too much of things "on offer" (only non perishables and i will use them...eventually!) so have really full cupboards!it's hard though because a lot of offers work on economies of scale so if i want cheper baked beans or fizzy drink i have to buy more then i need.At least if i ever have absolutely no access to money i won't starve0

For just myself around £25 a week - that's with everything fresh, no frozen.I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

Our average spend on groceries this year is £136 per month, or £31 per week for two adults. Includes household products, boyfriend's toiletries and my packed lunches. Doesn't include my toiletries, his lunches or the cat. Mostly vegetarian.
Edit: Just checked my 2009 file, average that year was £117 per month or £27 per week!0 -

£400 a month for 2 adults, but it does include all toiletries (i like expensive shampoo and perfume) as well as any meals out, takeaways or drinks after work....oh and groceries and cleaning products. We could lower it I know, but I like the balance we have and we're OK to afford it.0
