Skimlinks trial on MSE forums

Not sure what that has to do with Skimlinks, perhaps a new thread in the main site feedback section (link).
And, as it's working fine here, also include operating system, browser details otherwise they have can't even begin tracking down any bug

oh i dunno

in the user cp, edit options under the misc options there is a choice to opt out of the skimlinks trial when using the new look less bright [the only one i can just about bare]

but as i am currently using the old look [until you can fix the enter button not appearing in search results] there is no choice to opt out

why is this missing in this instance :question: does it mean those on old look are not included in the trial :question: or that those on the old look are includd in the trial with no choice of opting out :question:

I'm still on old look, no idea why, and I've opted out without any apparent problems.

Apols for any confusion. The last upgrade put me on the new look (by default?) so I must have changed it there before I immediately moved back to the old look.
I've presumed I'm still opted out.

Errata, you'll find that if you set it in the new look, switch to old and switch back to new that it's not set when you get back to new.

I don't like Skinflicks, won't ever knowingly use Skinflicks, so thanks for the headsup.

I have not read all the posts in this review, but can someone confirm to me that skimlink wont be used in the vents board. As if someone is issuing a warning about a rogue company or a scam and they include a link to the site, it would go against the very principles of MSE were they to get a kind of "blood money" incentive our of it.

Not really sure what you mean. MSE would only get money if someone purchased the item from the link that is being warned against - seems unlikely?

Thanks Rob, personally I see nothing wrong with the idea and if it goes to improve the forums in general, it can only be a good thing.

However as an err of caution, anyone could argue that the praise threads could and should be included, yet the vents should be excluded, of course as both vents and praises are merged, the only feasible option would be to re-separate the vents from the praise threads.
