help bmibaby just cancelled my flight!!!!!

Hi hope someone can help me i have had a flight booked with bmibaby from teeside to paris cdg booked for months and i have just received an email informing me that its now cancelled:eek:I have booked accomodation at disney and car parking at teeside, and also car hire in france with hertz What i would like to know is can i claim any of this back and if so from who? also does anyone know any other airlines that either fly from teeside or newcastle to CDG. Already tried ba but they fly from gatwick please help we were taking the kid in feb half term. thanks for any help you can offer me i am at my whits end.:beer:

I suspect easyJet will do one of their 'rescuing promotions' for bmibaby passengers from Newcastle.

You've just discovered one of the biggest problems of booking flights & accomodation separately - if one goes pear shaped you can't claim for the other.

All you can get back is the fare you paid BMI.
As for finding other flights have you looked at the websites for Newcastle, Teesside, Leeds/Bradford or Doncaster

hi thanks for the reply richardw bmi baby have said they will refund my ticket in full do you know if this will includes the taxes or do i have to claim my taxes back from somewhere else thanks for the help

Claim on your insurance/credit card? I know it sucks... Or try to book other flights. This is a risk you take with budget airlines, not that it is acceptable...

A lot of people slate Sleasyjet, but I've used them regularly (especially since they swallowed bu Go), and have never had an issue with them at all... Last week I flew to Barcelona with them, and we were ready to push off at Gatwick 15 mins before our take off time! We got into Barcelona 30 mins early!

just make sure if you go easyjet go exactly when it says you need to go... sounds sillly but easyjet are major fussy what time you arrive at the airport give it plenty of time or you may find your seats arnt avaliable when you arrive (ive had this)

I flew with Easyjet in the Summer and encountered the same problem as you are having at the moment, only with less time to sort it out. 2-3 weeks before we were due to leave the UK they cancelled our outgoing flight and 2 days before we left the UK they cancelled our return flight. Fortunately we were able to change the flights and accommodation. The flights were OK though.
