Missold Sky Retention Offer

I phoned Sky to cancel my subscription with them (TV, Broadband & Telephone) as they were increasing their prices by too much. They offered me 25% discount of my TV package for 12 months which I accepted. I asked the girl TWICE if I would be put onto another 12 month contract, TWICE she said I would not and could cancel at any time.
However, I received a confirmation letter from Sky yesturday about accepting the offer and that I have now entered a NEW 12 month contract with them which if broken will incur charges!
Really angry about this but what should I do about it?

Hi, my advice would be to telephone Consumer Direct, you will be able to get a local rate number from the saynoto0870 website, they should be able to advise you on what (if anything) you can do.0
