Help needed for TV/Freeview/DVD

Hi,
I'm looking to buy a TV (with freeview and dvd) for my bedroom but need to make sure I buy wisely this time.
I currently have a 19" Technika tv but the picture quality is terrible as the tv unit is much higher than my bed.
What should I be looking for to ensure I get good quality regardless of the angle it's viewed from. Or can anyone recommend a particular model.
N.B - Putting tv on the wall isn't an option
Thanks

Technika is just a cheap generic Tesco brand, the manufacturer could be anyone. Go for a Sony, Panasonic, or LG for better quality. Most TV's with built in DVD's are poor quality, so get separate units.
Unfortunately LCD viewing angles are more restricted than CRT's.
Go to somewhere like Richer Sounds and see what they have in your preferred size.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Hi - thanks for taking the time to reply.
My only problem is, I'm hoping to use my Tesco clubcard vouchers to buy the tv as they're doubling in value until September.
Maybe I should check out other retailers with better manufacturers - using Quidco I might not be that much dearer....or are there any Tesco tv's that would allow me to watch from any angle? Because it's a tv for my bedroom I'm not really fussed, just so long as I can watch it lying in my bed, lol...0
