    Hi there Jelly
Just a quick post, haven't had time to read your diary yet, but I saw your post on Yukkibear's diary, so I'm subscribing now and I'll be back later on to read all your news. Hope you're well and enjoying life in your new home

Hi Jellie. Welcome, and well done on getting not one but two gorgeous dresses. As long as you are happy that is all that matters. Good idea too to spread the costs over the time scale you have as it can all creep up towards the end. I unfortunately was not money savvy when we got married, but wish i had been.

So when are you aiming to be MF - i read it as 2010?

That was wishful thinking as we've only just got it! It should be by 2020 if we do really well!

    Thanks for reading

Ok, had a read now, the dresses, yes lady dresses.........two of them?!!!!.......look gorgeous, :j now no more looking at any wedding dress shops for you!

I drop in and out of the diaries much more briefly than I used to, still reading my favourite few, but farmville kind of took over, however, I have given up my cafe world and neglected my farm now! enough was enough! We were on holiday for a week and surprisingly enough we both managed without internet and tv so it can be done! Had a lovely holiday and now back on the stop wasting money wagon, I was finding old habits were sneaking back in. Last month was good for us though, we have overpaid our mortgage for the last quite a number of years and we are down to £200/£300.......thank the Lords. I can tell you, it's the best thing we did though overpaying, and every few months we would do a wee calculation and get all excited....I kid you not!! Not paying it all off though until the end of the year as we will get penalised if we redeem now, it's a fab feeling though, mind you, we still have rent, bills & food to pay for DD being at uni, but hey ho, glad we can do it.

Anyway, enough about me, how have you been and how is life in your lovely new home with OH? Oh and for getting out and meeting new folk, have you thought about joining a dance class? Usually great fun with a friendly bunch, and not too expensive.

    Good morning all.
Thanks for posting Primula, Yukkibear and Missy. I'll reply properly when I'm on a proper computer later!
I'm aiming to do store cupboard cooking at the moment. I'm also going through my stack of recipe books making things I haven't tried to decide which books I should keep and which to give away to charity. Did a chicken couscous recipe last night which was very simple but nice too.
Was a bit naughty and treated myself to a couple of cheap DVDs earlier so now I will need to find a couple to get rid of!
I'm off out for my walk and then it is back to the house decluttering! Need to get some work done too- the holidays are going really fast!
Enjoy the rest of the day!

Hello again Jellie - love the dresses - esp the 1st one. They look lovely (and dying the 2nd one for re-use is a really good idea!!)

    Morning Jellie :j

As a bloke, I can say you have made the right choices for the dresses! Your future hubby will faint when he sees you in that dress!

As for not taking your family to help you chose, don't worry they will understand.. It is your day, your decision after all.. There are plenty of opportunities for them to help for the big day..
When OH & I got married 3 years ago, we find it very useful to delegate some tasks to family & friends, so that they would feel like tehy helped out on our wedding day..
As long as you give them clear instructions, then there is no reason why it would not look like the perfect day you have in mind!

My OH had two dresses too, one for the civil ceremony in the UK, and one for the church wedding in France!! Cost a fair bit, but made it so special for all of us!! :T

Do ask away on this board if you have any questions, there are loads of people ready to help you out!

    Have a great day
