Cash 4 Clothes

There's a place in Cannock where we went with a few bags of clothes we'd found in a house we had to clear. I think they paid 55p per kilo. The clothes were weighed on a massive electronic scale in front of us and we were paid around £30. The only things they didn't have off us were curtains and bedding which we took to the charity shop.
They now pay 50p per kilo, here's the website

Last Monday i did a internet search and found a cash4clothes site in Wolverhampton offering to purchase clothes for cash at 50p per kilo. I arrived and unloaded 6 bags which were duly weighed with a total of 42Kg. It was only then that the guy told me that although it was 12.00 i would have to come back at 4.30 for the money. By now it was to late i had unloaded the car so i agreed to come back. The guy then reached for his calculator and worked out i was due £12 and not the £21 i was expecting. When I challenged the guy he said it was up to 50p per kilo and he was working on 30p per kilo, when i moaned he upped the offer to £16.80 He also tried to get me to loan him £3 until i was getting paid out. I arrived back at the yard about 4.20 only to be told they guy was on his way. Finally got paid at 5.00
There were about 5 or 6 waiting to get paid and some were only getting a few pounds.
Please do not think about trying this place and i will be taking anymore to the local charity shop next time. I think the guy realises that some people will not hang around for the few pounds hence the delays in getting paid.

I think this is the company I used a few months back if anyone is looking in Preston/Leyland/Chorley area - not sure what area they cover overall??

I phoned at lunch and they were at my house within a couple of hours, bags of clothes weighed and I was paid - just to get rid of stuff that I didn't consider good enough for e-bay.0 -

I think this company might be linked to the one I had planned to take my stuff to in Birmingham so I'm going to give both a miss and go to a local one which is offering less money but probably less hassle.

Do not use ReturnToEarn! They are the biggest scam. Suppose to be 60p per Kilo.... I did everything it said... From the 10kg... they only "accepted" 1kg. What happened to the rest of my items? Who knows.
I am fuming on the poor customer services and what is a big SCAM - do not use them!0 -
You would be better of e-baying the stuff or even selling the clothes as a joblot for a carbooter for £10.0

Some of them collect from your door. I need to get rid of loads of stuff. Which is the best company to use? I cant be bothered with ebay.0

The dustman collect and dont charge you. The ones that pay only want your top quality items
that they can resell at the carboot or on ebay etc.
They may want to rummage through all your stuff and may only select a small amount and offer you less than you thought. Ebay maybe less hassle and actually get more from selling a couple of items on their own.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

You can also take them to the laundrette up the road from me in Darlington. Personally I think it's a good idea, we took a few bags which would have otherwise gone in the bin (too bad for ebay plus I don't drive so would have had no way to get them to a charity shop) and you get the money on the spot. They didn't pretend to be a charity or anything and it's saving stuff from going into landfill, plus you get a few quid for something you normally wouldn't. They definitely didn't rummage through it and reject any!D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't importantTaste The Rainbow :heartsmil0 -
I am using Cash 4 Clothes today, have booked my collection. A loy of people are telling the OP to ebay or car boot, but do some of you realise this is not possible for some people? I do not own a car, so car boots are out of the question. I only have a cash card (not a debit) so can't link it to paypal, so ebay is also a no go. Plus, I am a busy working mum who doesn't have time to list things on ebay anyway.
I have 8 bags of clothes that need clearing, and if I get 20 quid for them, it's a bonus. I used to give to charity shops, but know someone who works in a few stock rooms in them and she admitted they go through the bags and take the good stuff out for themselves. Some of them even bag up kids stuff and sell it on to their mates.
And as for the clothing bags that come through the doors, I did this once and someone stole the bag from outside my house. When the van came around, I noticed he hadn't taken my bag, and when I asked him if he'd had it, he said no, but it had been reported that people had stolen these bags to sell on for profit (i live in cardiff, and noticed the news article posted a few pages back).
Bottom line is, I need the money, and ebay/car boots aren't possible for me. Stop being so harsh to the OP, she's only doing what lots of people have to do to get some extra cash.Best win ever - My wedding!!
