I did. I also bought some items that weren't in the sale but scanned through as less than it said. I got a £7 top for £5, a pair of shorts that were £10 for £6, a pair for my hubby that said £14 but went through at £10 and a T-shirt for £5 instead of £8 :j

i have just had great fun inputting 88 of the online codes, yes 88 !!!
i went to my local tesco in chesterfield today to double up £440 worth of cc vouchers for the homewear vouchers, couldnt quite believe it when they came out in values of £10, i would have thought if you were changing a large amount that they would have come in values of £50 maybe, i wasnt relishing the thought of inputting such a large amount of codes, mainly because at the moment my computer is on the blink keeps freezing, so i thought i would call to the direct desk, as i thought they might be able to offer advice/help the woman was very unhelpful, her reply was "well we have to do it, i had to type in £300 worth yesterday" then she came out with they are in multiples of £10 to discourage people from changing large amounts, i couldnt quite beleive what the woman was saying,i said but its a promotion tesco are doing this to encourage people to spend them, to cut a long story short she was no help, so i have just finished doing my order for an electric fire, the hamilton sideboard, and the hamilton tv unit, i wouldnt normally spend them this way as i prefer to get 4 times the value but we are redecorating and moneys tight

This is my first post so be gentle with me. Yesterday discovered tesco doubleup deal. I called reward center to check that TV were included and after checking with line manager I was told they were included in deal. I arrived at our extra store and tried to purchase said TV and was told by sales assistant and stock manager that they were excluded items and not in deal. I was livid and I later rang rewards again only to be told that I was given correct info and to get store manager to ring up the store support center. well this went down like a lead balloon, still not allowed to purchase TV. well 11 phone calls and 2 visits later still no joy. HAS ANYONE GOT ANY IDEAS OF WHAT ELSE I CAN DO:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

you could try ringing the main customer service centre and tell them how you have conflicting info the number is 0800 505555

    Stick to your guns Missy!

Write it all down, basically by drafting out a letter, detailing all the times and information you were given. Names are always good to get too. I would consider going back to the Tescos in order to get the name of the store manager who categorically told you the TV was not part of the deal, despite being told by another Tesco rep that it was.

You could also do with something firm and written from customer services, maybe in the form of an email. Just as proof.

Finally, I think if you could afford the TV at full price and could live with paying it if needed (and if its still decent value at that price) I would buy the TV then go all out to claim the difference back. You would have a strong case to kick up one hell of a stink. Tescos customer services may take your vouchers off you that way and refund the difference, or even just give you some kind of discount. Or they may close ranks and refuse to budge but at least you have the TV.

The reason I'd buy the TV outright is because if Tescos customer services change their position, or the TVs go out of stock, you won't be able to make them honour the deal you should have had originally.

Also I would find out what Tescos returns policy is, keep the TV sealed (if you can resist the temptation) until this is resolved. You will then have 28 days to just take the set back (though you may need to pay without the vouchers as this may be in their terms and conditions).

I had a similar issue with Comet a couple of years back, and was fuming from the downright rudeness and lack of respect from a manager. I went to another branch and got the deal as it should have been but wrote and complained. Like you, the problem would have been resolved if this fool had contacted their head office - or even just looked up their website. Oh that was it, he claimed he couldn't access the internet. IN A COMET STORE IN 2008!!!!

Good luck Missy, hope you get the deal you deserve.

    Hiya all

i got some of mine changed for toys and bought a Transformer scooter with little cars inside reduced from £35 to £8.48 for my youngest son who's birthday was last week and a battle striker starter kit that was half price at £2.49 which will be saved for christmas for my eldest son :j

do not know what I will get with the rest yet but will def look before exchanging them.
  • Missy Elli - and anyone else having trouble with this promotion. I think (unless the item you want to buy is on sale and you think stocks might disappear) I'd leave this a couple of days - perhaps till early next week. Its new, & the stores don't seem to have been properly briefed on it.

I wanted internet vouchers. My (huge) local Tesco told me yesterday early afternoon that they didn't change points vouchers for internet vouchers - you do that online. I pointed out the bit in the promotional leaflet that doesn't say that. The SA treated me like an idiot.

I came home & called customer services - they said you can only get double up vouchers in store. They apologised to me and said if I had the same problem again I was to get the SA or manager to call the customer services helpline from the store.

I returned to Tesco (late afternoon by now!) and they had set up a stall near the entrance especially for double-ups. I asked the SA on the stall for internet vouchers. She said she didn't know whether she could issue internet vouchers! I stood there explaining I was certain she could do it and she discovered to her absolute amazement that she could.

I got my sale chairs, so I was happy despite this having wasted my time.

I reckon the promotion is quite complicated and if a local store is being problematic it might be worth waiting a few days while they get used to it. Alternatively, if you've had assurances from central customer services that your tv (or whatever) is in the promotion, you could change your points into internet vouchers rather than store ones & do an online order.
