Mental/Psychological compensation

Hi, After a RTA can a victim claim Mental/Psychological compensation? Or does it only apply to people at work? Is the third party insurance liable to this type of injury? Or the driver? Please advise. thanks,

After reading this post, I am nervous of opening similar threads on my PC.I have instructed my solicitors to pursue the OP for psychological damages caused to myself and future loss of my ability to waste 30 mins every now and again on similar sites.How much should I be looking to claim for?I don't want to shortchange myself afterall.
