tesco-need quicker

I am on Tesco internet with BT option 1 but am now finding that the internet is really slow(576 kbps) and am finding that i am losing good deals and sometimes links.

Any good deals that can combine phone/internet but with quicker speed.

I don't use the phone that much(unless people phone me) but use mobile more.

    Is your PC virus/malware free?
Is Bearshare or similar running in the background?
Have you got Skype stealing your bandwidth?
What's the contention on the Tesco product?

512 should be fast enough for anything unless you're a heavy downloader.

  • just been on the phone and they say that the special offer is up and now is back to normal prices.

Is it best to go with BT
    line rental(£11)+ b/band(opt1 -£12.99)or (opt2 £14.99)

    it all adds up,

    Is the changeover ok?

  • Sorry but I find this thread confusing

Do you need to complete a 12 month contract with Tesco for your bb before changing to someone else? Who else are you thinking about changing to?
Are you thinking about about changing your Tesco package to another package with them?

If you change your package with Tesco to say their Value package you start your 12 months contract again from that point.

I have been with Tesco bb, 512, from the start and have always found it to be fast enough and pay BT for my line rental at £11 per month paying by dd.
  • I have done my 12 month contract with tescos

    this is what i pay
    1-line rental Bt (£11/month)
    2-b/band tesco (17.99/month)
    3-phone deal tesco (£10/month)

so thought it better to get a better deal with just paying for 1+2

    its all confusing i know

you do know that opt 1 is £12.99 per month for first 3 months £17.99 thereafter.... my isp zazizam provides this same 8mb, 2GB package for £13.99 a month... or unlimited 512k (what your on now*) for £15.99

opt 2 is £14.99 per month for first 3 months £22.99 thereafter... again, my provider provides a similar 8mb package for £15.99, be it 5GB instead of 6GB

all you need is your MAC from tesco.... and continue using your exisiting modem.. which saves you money straight away!

*at least, this is what I think your on as your original post suggests - but it is a little confusing!

as for phone - zazizam have a CPS option, and maybe a line rental thing coming up very soon.... or you can easily lower your phone costs by using VoIP - Skype is a big player with lots of users (https://www.skype.co.uk) - calls to uk lines are 1.2ppm all day, calls are done over the internet
