Why dont you just drive 'around' the pot holes? I do it 5 times every morning and evening on the way home from work. Yes I know it doesnt solve the problem, but at least it doesnt put you out

edit - and if you send emails every day, he will simply put your email address on an autodivert to the bin, I know I do this at work and it even sends an AutoReply back saying send your email somewhere else :)

Have you not got better things to do with your own time?

You need to remember that the person who pays this person is you and me (assuming you pay taxes). The administrator is still going to get paid, whatever he is doing with his time. However, you are taking resources away from other vital services, including road maintenance. In effect, your silly vendetta is causing the problem you are complaining about.

    Spot on.

If the council wanted to be as silly as the OP they could perhaps pass the details of his incident to the police to see if they think there could be a prosecution for driving without due care and attention. I can recall a case of where a motorcyclist was charged after hitting a pot hole and falling off his bike (IIRC).

Well I'm with johnneywey on this. Council bureaucrats should be held accountable, they work for us.

My daughter in law used to work, as a temp, in the Parking Office fines section of a local authority. She says a lot of the time staff deliberately misled complainants who had genuine complaints, or ran them "round the houses" in the hope they would get fed up and go away.

Something similar happened to me over a planning complaint, not the same authority BTW. They kept mislaying the file, clearly in the hope I would go away.

There are traffic regulations you are allowed to see but in my experience you have to persevere - they usually have targets to meet in terms of response. If there are regulations about pot holes and inspections you will be entitled to know what they are under an FOI request, as an interested party.

Ahhh. The great "I pay your wages" argument.
Ok, so whats that bureaucrat done for the taxpayer. He's ensured 95% of people who claim against the council dont get a payout. How much has that saved us?
You seem to have missed the OP's point though. Yes, he can get the information through FOI but thats not what he wants. His only quest is to annoy 1 guy that works for the council.
  • The council fella will love it, the more bumph you send him the better, so long as he can show he's snowed under with work his job is guaranteed for as long as he wants it, and good luck to him.

Beats the hell out of going out and getting a normal job, it must be quite an eye opener though the odd sort of folk one has to deal with, some of them even appeal on forums for time wasting ideas.
