  • What I would do is start documenting and reporting potholes that I see so that when someone hits it 2 months after you report it, THEY have a claim. (I wouldnt really, but hey ho).

I'm sure theres more, perhaps even one specific to your area.

Get his 95% down (or single handedly get rid of all potholes in your area). If your going to let this consume you, you may as well fight the good fight and help others.

Take a contract out on the guy, that will then teach the rest to sort claims favourably and in a timely fashion....;)

That sounds like something the LA would be grateful for, as it means they can be proactive before an accident occurs. ;)

OP, if you really have that much time on your hands, the above sounds like a great plan - moneysaving for the LA and the public as a whole (but not your petrol costs)!

Are we only allowed to answer if we agree with you? At the moment the only person who is wasting their time is you.

Hasn't the public sector got enough useless form filling to do without wasting more time (paid for by our taxes) on your puerile ego trip?

Quite. My experience is that Council officials do an admirable job of wasting their own time without any assistance from third parties.

Having dealt with roads officials as part of my job they tend not to be the most underworked guys in the council. There are a section of useless ones who you wonder about but most dept. are woefully under resourced and they get so much requests and things to do, things generally do not get done. Mind you wouldn't surprise me if he just diverts your e-mails to the bin!
