    So you bought cheap and now you are complaing.

    All I can say is this is what happens when you buy cheap!!
  • I am at a loss to understand how Octagon continues to do business with such a bad track record.Wonder how this has not become a much publicised legal case. The way it is going on, more and more people will be duped by it. There should be some way of blocking them out and complaining to the relevant authorities.

    People will keep buying on price not quality. Just think "Why are they so much cheaper than everyone else?"
  • Having read the reviews I had to post a reply. I was hit by a car on February 5th 2014. I cannot fault the service as today they have released the payment as the car was declared a write off on February 14th 2014. I have chased every day but cannot fault their quick service in releasing BACS payment.

    As a general rule if you see an Insurer / Underwriter is based in Gibraltar it's best to give them the big swerve
  • Who can i complain to about this company? They have told me to complain to Carpenters but i want an independent body to lodge complaint. Im sick of Octagons incompetance!

    Sadly Karen Carpenter passed away in 1983 but the other half of the duo - her brother Richard - is still alive and well.

    I have taken out insurance with this company. I was told I would receive the insurance schedule with 30 minutes by email. 3hrs later I'm still waiting. Not a good start. And based on the comments I will be cancelling within the 14 days.

    So if anyone has horror stories, please inform the comparison sites so that they are fully aware of the poor practice of companies such as Octagon.

    Hopefully this will encourage sites not to advertise these predator-esk companies.

    In addition, make sure you tell all Standards Agencies (i.e. Trading Standards) and Watchdog /Ombudsmen.

    As companies such as Octagon deal with the public, this information is of public interest.

    Maybe just maybe, these companies can be prevented from trading in such an irreputable manner.

    Hope the revloution for the good of consumers being victims of disgraceful customer service, small-print and exclusion clauses, begins! :O)
