You don't add the interest at this stage you only add that if it goes to court.
I am sending that same letter which says plus interest
It say plus interest if they do not agree to pay you
It is very confusing at first - it's took me ages to get my head round things especially with all the charges/ interest, and it being our money at that.became debt free December 060 -
I saw on there that someone has got their statements back to 1993 and is claiming from them. I have statements going back further than 6 years - but is there a cut off point legally for claiming of six years or is that just the point that you can ask for your statements going back to?0
-
What is the schedule of charges - does that mean I enclose a list of dates and charges from my statements/records?0
-
Have you got all your statements that you need yet. You need to calculate how much the bank owes you firstly before you send off the Preliminary approach for repayment.
Not sure if they will back date to more than 6 yearsbecame debt free December 060 -
Yes I have all my statements in the loft going back for a number of years.0

Firstly on the CAG forum there is a spreadhseet which calculates the interest for you and it works out how many days old the charge is, so put the calendar away no need to count the days.lol
Secondly, if you send it recorded delivery to your local branch it will find its way to the relevant department and then from there on their return letters you have your point of contact to send the next letter.0 -
Can I send it to the head office address I've found on the CAG website though - would prefer sending it there!!
So I calculate each charge on the cag website and add it all together - or list them and total it at the end.
I'm getting confused with the interest bit, the first letter I just ask for the actual charges and then if they don't respond I add the interest on, but in the first ltter I metion interest but no amount?0 -
You can only claim back 6yrs from the date you send your first letter. So don't hang about or you may find one months charges become obsolete.0

OK thanks!0

you send the prelim letter first - just mentioning interest
then the Letter before action - again just mentioning interest
if it goes to court you then add up all the interestbecame debt free December 060
