    The Post Office just resell BT lines so you can use any ISP including theirs although that has little going for it.

    10GB is a pretty low cap and would pretty much exclude any use of iPlayer etc. Are you getting confused with the VM speed I mentioned which is 10Mbps but no download cap as such (AUP plus temporary throttling if published usage limits are breached).

    The best ADSL deal is O2 LLU or Sky LLU. All the other LLU deals are a bit iffy and non-LLU is resold BT which can be iffy too.

    http://www.samknows.com/broadband/search.php should tell you the LLU options. If neither O2 nor Sky LLU are avaible then my advice would be to take cable and mitigate phone costs by using VOIP for outgoing - most convenient way is to buy an ATA device with a DECT phone. Alternately just use a contract mobile.
    Hi, Thanks again. It,s the Gbs usage i,m concerned about, not the speed. O2, have to have a activated line, also, I think sky do. it,s the price of installing the line thats the problem. Cable seems the best route, don,t require a bt line then.but a connection charge is also applied.cannot win;;;

    If you take tv also from virgin it's free install, might work out cheaper over the year

    Who are you looking at that applies a 10GB cap?

    The VM install is only £35 iirc. As above if you take BB phone and TV the install is free but the chaepest TV package is £5.50 pcm.

    It sounds like a security deposit has been added and other providers may do the same due to her lack of UK credit history. This would be returned after a period of time.
    Hi, update, it seems espresso was correct, BT require a£150 up front bond as daughter has failed credit score being abroad + unbeknown grandson changed to sky during contract to bt, hence black mark.Considering she still has BT in spain one would have thought she would not be liable for grandson, however I think it,s the adrress, not the person that,s flagged? It looks like Vm, or £100 to Post Office for adsl line, then another ISP.Decided against dongle route,too expensive and no landline.£35 unlimited , Orange.Thanks for all replies, much appreciated.:beer:
