Got 4 free tickets to Alton Towers through Daily Express offer. Booked into Holiday Inn at Stoke next Friday night, into the park early Saturday morning. Anyone got tips to getting the best out of the day?

Get there early as possible and aim to get on the bigger rides first. Start in one zone and then make your way round to the others, which was difficult when I went because the cable carts were out of order.
Saturdays going to be a very very busy day maybe not the best day to go if you're after thrills on the rides.0 -
Food at Alton towers is overpriced and poor quality-try and make a packed lunch-best place to eat it is in the gardens as not usually busy-head to the conservatory where there is a lovely domed tabled area or if that's not free benches (if weathers good) or under conservatory roof (if wet). Its a nice calm place away from the whirr of the rides. Thanks to MSE and all the moneysaving tips I can now work PT (instead of FT) to pay the bills and still have fun!!:beer:0

If it rains - go on every ride that's outside - all the water rides etc - queues will be loads shorter as everyone will head for food/indoor rides/shelter!
That's what we did last time we went - it rained hard all morning and we were soaked but went on everything we wanted at least twice!

start at the far end of the park & work backwards to the entrance0

Thanks to all for the above tips - a few of us are going with my free tickets on Sunday - really excited as I haven't been there for about 8 yrs, all the rides are new!Blood donations to date: 10 | Type: O negative[/B][/CENTER]0
