And a question for all of you - has anyone read any good "thrifty" books. I have reading up on investing, pensions, etc - it's a "Dummies Guide" book and it mentioned a book called "Frugal Living for Dummies", has anybody read it or read any other good ones?

Hi Jo, don't know about the books (but think I better get to my library!) but if you've got any pensions questions you can feel free send them my way. Been working in pensions for 6 years now and qualified 2 years ago so I 'should' be able to help :p The voluntary work I do is helping peeps with pension queries/complaints so if I don't know I should be able to point you in the right direction.

    HTH.

    Morning ladies!
Exciting bike news! Have a good time Josie!
Hope work isn't too bad for Stitching and Determined?

Today is another day at home trying to fill my time without spending anything/much.

    So I will....
    • Walk dog for free exercise, done 1 already done 2
    • Tidy kitchen done
    • Sort out handbag mountain - didn't manage this yesterday
    • Do at least 2 hours school work
    • Put bins out done
    • Check banks - not good done
    • Check quidco done
    • Do any surveys that come none today yet
    • All food from stores goulash for OH for tea and the rest of the pasta thingy I made from my SW cookbook yesterday for me
    • Try to have a LSD if not a NSD spent £4 in shop, boo!
    • Put dry washing away folded and ready to go
    • Look at recipe book to see if there's anything yummy to make using stuff we have in
    • Found a crop of blackberries whilst walking dog - go and pick them if the rain holds off;) will do on the next dog walk
    • Sent OH a llink to look at in work for a short break in the lakes instead of going to West Wales later this month - the hotel is much cheaper, petrol will be at least half and we can take the dog (and I've never been!) managed to convince him to do this and have cancelled the other break and booked the new one, BIG savings on original plans
    • Do some shredding
    • Look at PPI reclaiming again
    • Maybe tidy out part of a wardrobe and make a charity pile and bin pile done a wardrobe - took ages! Chest of drawers tomorrow
That's all for now. Have a good day!

Getting there - everything taking longer than I thought today - at least I'm busy I suppose!

After my excitement the other day of having paid off the last payment to my old Next account, I've just this morning done a snowball calculator for my CC's & Store Cards and I will be free of these by March 2012 :j

I have a CCJ (Satisfied) due to fall off my credit report at the end of 2011 so I have to say, I'm really pleased knowing I have a light at the end of the tunnel, it's like I can breath a sigh of relief finally, I wish I'd done this a few years ago :o

very cool watalie, very very cool x
