:)When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :)

Morning campers!

Well I am up early today as I am very excited! I have my motorbike back on the road and taxed and ready to go! I am picking it up from home at lunch time so after work we can shoot off to Poole Quay tonight (the locals of you on here will know what for!!!)

Today I will:
- [STRIKE]Check banking[/STRIKE] not too scary!
- Search out notebook and update
- [STRIKE]Get bike jacket out of loft for later[/STRIKE] should have done this earlier, it smells all musty!
- [STRIKE]Check weather[/STRIKE] OK today but heavy rain tomorrow, might change by then
- Lunch and snacks from home
- [STRIKE]Gammon in SC ready for DM's dinner, who is picking DD up from nursery and staying over[/STRIKE] lucky lady!
- [STRIKE]Try and fight with DD to get her up and dressed![/STRIKE] she is wearing her favourite skirt AGAIN
- Fuel up bike at lunch time :j
- [STRIKE]Take tidy clothes in for tomorrow as am using bike tomorrow as well........[/STRIKE] might not now looking at the weather but have brought them in anyway just incase

Can anyone tell I am v. excited about my bike???? LOL

Have a lovely day all
Jx

Well it would seem I was way to over excited this morning and wrote myself a rubbish list of stuff! So here is some more:-

- Do some OnePoll
- Try and sell a purge
- Try and locate a phone charger to charge at work as mine is nearly flat!!!
- Check for any new bills coming in and update notebook if I can find it!
- May transfer notebook info into spreadsheet form to keep myself in the 21st Century!

Nothing to report as yet...give me a minute...!

  • I'm at work at stupid o'clock too. I was told yesterday I have to get a yearly report done by lunchtime today so stayed 2 hours last night and came in at 7.30 today. Don't get enhanced overtime rates but an extra 3.5 hours always comes in handy. :D

Didn't get chance to do anything at home this morning but did run WM on Economy 7. Hopefully DH will think to hang it out as I'm staying at DDs tonight whilst she gallivants off on her bike! (I did have to look up the spelling though ;))

I need diesel and also buy a lunch as I didn't get chance this morning so not a DFW day at all really. Ah well, there's always tomorrow ......

  • Morning everyone

Was up really early for me today, washing already out on line, but not sure how long it will stay there, we have some very dark clouds.

I have been investigating the best way to sell a ring I have. I don't really want to scrap it, but it does have a very big stone and is an acquired taste, not mine I am afraid. I may send a photo to the local auctioneers, see what they say.

    So far

    I have checked online banking
    Made bed.

Dh is off work today, so we are going to have a look around Newark and going for lunch (tesco vouchers:j)
I have some gooseberries that need freezing, and more plums.
Need to collect ds gluten free presciption, see if they get it right this month.
Check I have baking ingredients, need to do some bits and pieces to last us until we go away on holiday. I am desperate not to go any further into the overdraft this month.
Also have some work pieces to finish off, don't think I will get paid before we go, but at least I know I will have the money when I get back as they are good payers.
Photograph some more stuff for ebay.

Think that is it for now, off to put some more washing in washing machine.
My finances are work in progress.
    Normal veiwing will resume shortly
  • Good morning everyone,

oooooooooh a bike :) I last rode my bike when 7 months pregnant and DS2 is now 21 :rotfl: I think I'd be too scared to get back on now :o

    Morning All :hello:

I had a lovely lie in this morning and feel really refreshed. I'm still bored though :rotfl: Although I have knitting to do I sleep so badly if I don't do something more physical, but with a maid, and gardeners and a tight budget this month I'm BORED :rotfl::rotfl: (please let me explain the maid (the gardeners are part of our rent) if I don't have a maid a family loses it's main income. £15 per day 2 days a week is not a great deal to us, but does support a whole family. We have to try and make work for her though as we're not messy :rotfl:) So I've been entertaining myself doing home beauty treatments and exercise DVD's......... :o

    So today I have/will
    • Argued with the RAC and MBNA over some non-existent car insurance which we've paid for but no-one can find the money.
    • 2 x 15 mins on the cross trainer (1 done)
    • banking.....still tight this month if we're to avoid debt. :(
    • cook meal from menu plan - Salmon Teriyaki & noodles :D
    • knit more of Sis's shrug. I'm worried she won't like the gorgeous deep red colour - not a colour she wears usually :undecided
    • catch up on correspondence
    • make some notes re my writing - I'll keep including that until I actually DO something! :o
    • read the papers on-line

Have a great day everybody :A
