Obtuse seller - Help!!

Comments

  • he has other tickets listed for other shows & there are slightly dubious bits in his wording about those so he knows very well what he's doing.

He hasn't got any other items for sale, not a regular ebayer, so could be just a chancer trying to make a bit of extra money.

OP, what price did he give you for P+P BTW?

  • He's not even mentioned P+P - that's what I contacted him for originally,
sorry Soolin - what does TSFE stand for ?!

TSFE= Too stupid for ebay although maybe I should be kinder and refer to him as TDFE 'To Dim for ebay'.

If you contacted him about postage and he did not respond why did you bid? There was a thread recently were someone was charged around £10 for items that should only be about £2 to send as p and p was not shown up front and they bid without clarifying charge.

If you can persuade him to sell you the two for £20 as per the auction he might now turn round and demand silly money for postage. In reality you should be loooking at a minimum of £4.10 for special, but realistically with another £1 or £2 added on for other expenses.

Might be cheaper to look at family saver tickets on the website.

  • Soolin - I only contacted him about postage after I'd clicked the buy it now, when you can request total invoice from the seller,as I hadn't realised he'd not put it on.
I think I'm going to get in touch with Ebay and see what happens.
  • Right, I've contacted ebay and explained the situation but just been sent an invoice from seller for £40 - what part of I DO NOT WANT TO BUY THESE TICKETS does he not understand !!!

Tell him that you are willing to pay the £20 for two tickets not £20 each ticket - otherwise you will see him in dispute. I wouldnt say that I would pay his fees when he has misdescribed the item. I too would have thought that there was 2 tickets for £20

Totally agree. Misleading, whether deliberately so or not.

Dont pay his eBay fees. You could if you wanted offer to agree to a Mutual Agreement Message so he gets his fees back automatically and gets a free relist. At least then he isnt out of pocket and you are relieved of any obligations.
  • Just joining here and viewing the item on eBay.

"2 tickets for slavas snowshow at milton keynes"

That does seem pretty clear to me. Two tickets!!

    Just like I've listed on some of my auctions;

    "10 Atari cartridges."

Which means. The buyer is bidding on TEN CARTRIDGES.

    Onto this seller's standing now...

    3 Feedback!

You're gonna win OP. Don't worry about it. The seller is a numpty.

Start a NPS now, specifically due to the timescales involved. This is a time/date sensitive item so doesn't abide by the normal 7-day rule (I think..).

    That's that idea out :(
However, in the following exceptional cases, the seller can file a dispute immediately:

at the time of the filing the buyer is no longer a registered user of eBay, or
the seller and buyer both wish to mutually withdraw from the transaction.
  • Sorry ts-aly, what does NPS stand for? Although I've been ebaying for a while, this is the first problem I've come up against!
Thanks everyone for all your comments.

    non-performing seller.

I agree - dispute it! He has misunderstood how eBay works and that is his mistake not yours. If he said two tickets, then it is two for £20.
