  • If you mis-used codes which weren't sent to you, and their terms and conditions specify that this is not allowed, you aren't entitled to the discounts.

Nor do you have any right to return the goods because they cost more than you decided they were going to cost you.
  • To be honest with you...

Quoted as this is entirely correct. You don't have a leg to stand on, I'm afraid.

OP, it looks like you'll have to pay this. If you used codes you wren;t entitled to, and sent stuff back, then you are bang to rights.

Not all catalogue companies pay the carriage both ways on unwanted goods. Evidently Additions Direct charge the P&P if you return things - which is fair enough.
  • Anyone affected by the Great Littlewoods Voucher Scam, please sign up to www.geteven.biz. If you haven't heard of us already, we are trying to get enough people who have been affected by this together so that we can launch a class action against LW and get this buried once and for all. If you don't want to register on the sight, we still want to hear your story (http://geteven.biz/templates/email.html), even if you decided to pay the £25! I urge anyone that has been affected to get in touch!

    Cheers

    Tim

Quoted as you appear to have no understand of UK Law. If you cannot be bothered to do the appropriate research, then don't post on here giving out duff advice which will cause people to lose money.

But surely if someone has used codes no intended for them, then the company are entitled to charge full price for the goods. It really does seem that this is the case, as the OP says they used two different codes for free delivery - how were they supposed to get two free deliveries on one order? And most companies state that only one special offer can be used at a time (I can't be sure in the OPs case, but three different discounts and a total of five codes seems a little excessive)

Companies issue discount codes to customers to reward loyalty and encourage re-ordering. If that customer then advertises a code meant for them on the internet, or uses a code not meant for them, then the company have the right to withdraw the offer. They do not HAVE to give you items at a discounted price if they suspect that you have come about the discount in a dishonest manner.

Similarly, although some companies allow you to return unsuitable goods at their expense, they are under no obligation to pay for that privilege, and unfotunately, the onus is on you to read the Ts and Cs of both discount codes and returned items before you order to ensure that you are using them correctly.

You are wrong in every respect. Once the goods are dispatched, it forms a legally binding contract (under the DSR) and as such, the company are LEGALLY BOUND to provide the goods at the price agreed at time of purchase.

Having said that, it depends whether the codes were ever credited to their account. If they were and they were not rescinded BEFORE the goods were dispatched, then the OP has every right to take LWD to Small Claims Court, and/or join www.geteven.biz.

As coupons etc are not bound by any law, it is upto the seller to enforce their own T&Cs. If they cannot put a system in place to do this and people exploit it, then it's tough t*ts to them. Their fault.
