Additions direct NIGHTMARE!!!

I spent half of my time mailing additions direct tryin to sort the codes i used out because they dont show up on my statement/invoice or checkout. I used 5 individual codes in total ...i got all positive replies from additions direct that say 'I'm pleased to confirm that your account has been credited for this and
it will appear on your next statement'. or ' I have put the code through for and it will appear on your next statement'. SOMEHOW my total went to 90 pounds! Infact i bought a pair of jeans for 16.00, a rug for 10.00 shirt for 10.00 and a top for 5.00. Now i just got back from holiday and checked my new additions direct statement. My bill is 66.00.. to my calculations it should be 20 because i used 2 different 10.00 off codes, a 5.00 off code and 2 free delivery codes. There statement service is what i just dont understand.. even after a staff member breaking the statement down for me trying to explain it to me it still left me confused...now that im furious with additions direct and wish i could send every single item i bought from them back but unfortunately nothing is in its original packing. im just so fed up with their company. i know what i bought and i know exactly how much i should be paying for them. I agreed with them to pay 42.00 and now i have an invoice on 66.00 because they have added another 27.00 charge so i emailed them and got this reply
'I have checked your account and see that the additional charge of £27.00
has been added as the promotion codes you have quoted on previous orders
were not valid on your account'
'Thank you for your email
Unfortunately the codes you have quoted are not applicable to our website.
Please accept my apologies for any disappointment or inconvenience this
may have caused you'
My reply:
well i am also sorry that i will not be paying the total charge because in all your previous emails you people have told me that the codes have gone through fine . Why tell me they havent at the end? why arent they applicable to your website? im sure you are additions direct.
WHAT????? THEY COULDNT TELL ME IN JUNE..they couldnt tell me in the 24 emails they sent me?! I am just so angry at this company..i wish this problem would just finish somehow with me just paying 30 quid..i just got back from holiday and im already flooded with bills. What on earth can do i do now?& this has been going on for 2 months!

Can anyone help? Would anything happen if i send a complaint? they obviously lied to me telling me that my promotional code has been put through/credited to my account'/'will show up on your next statement'!!
IF they had told me a month ago then i would have returned my items!0 -
You might be better posting this on the discount codes and voucher board. Someone has had a similar problem to you, but with flowers, although she did use the promotional code 50 times and then got a bill for over £1000, she has had plenty of advice.
Hope this helps.
Louise
By the way I have had loads of problems with this company too !!!
I avoid now, they only overcharged me about a £10 but there was no way they were giving it back.0 -
I had problems like this with Empire - got Mail Order Traders association on the case as Empire are trying to get legal action against me for having an order totalled £0.00, proof of it as well, THEN thye changed thier mind and tried to charge me ¬¬
Try Mail Orders Traders association, call them and ask if Additions is in thier group, do it asap.~*Cerenia*~

Dear ***
Thank you for your e-mail about discount vouchers.
Each promotion code can only be used once. And it is only available for
use by the account holder it was addressed to. The balance of £68.08 is
therefore due.
If we can be of any further help, please contact us.

[I DID NOT EVEN USE 1 CODE TWICE..I WONDER HOW THE £43.38 CHARGE WENT UP TO £68.08!!]0 -
Get to Mail Orders traders association, and keep those emails - you'll need them for quotation, they're really friendly over the phone, I was near tears explaining all of mine - its stressing me out badly, and i'm not sleeping because i'm so afraid about it all, and they're really sympathetic, and being helpful.~*Cerenia*~

Is there a contact number? Can you contact them by email? and do i just explain all of this to them?
thanks0 -
http://mota.org.uk/ is thier webpage, with thier contact numbers on, I called them, explained it all, and they checked to see if Empire was on thier list, which they were, and we took it from there. Be warned - a lot of the time you cannot get through straightaway and you have to leave a message.~*Cerenia*~

Other companies have also started reversing codes and people who have bought through Littlewoods and LX Direct are finding themselves with bills to be pay. There was another one but I can't remember who it was. I will try to find the thread with it on.0
