More than 1 current account?

Could be useful to keep an account open that you have had for many years - when asked how long you have been with your current bank you can then honestly reply - can also help with credit cards etc according to discussion elsewhere?

That's true, and I think that may be the reason I was able to get my new account at Lloyds (not got a great credit rating as I don't have any CC's and I'm not on Electoral roll) by stating on the application I'd held my previous acount for 20 years."An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

I have three current accounts, and the main one being Citibank, the other two are solely to fund the respective regular savers (Halifax and Abbey), as they require the Standing orders into their respective high interest regular savers to be from a current account. Since I lose out on the float for 3-4 working days if I were to set up a Standing Order with Citibank, I opened a current account at each of these banks.
Actually, is not too much of a hassle - in fact, I have put a lump sum in each of their e-savers (both of them have esavers offering around 5%) and just transfer the monthly instalment one calender day in advance to the current account in time for the SO to transfer it to the regular saver. It's always the grass that suffers, irrespective of whether the elephants are fighting or making love !!!0 -
OK so I have a second current account with lloyds now. I noticed that they do a credit check when you open it - I dont have much of a credit history, just a credit card I keep for emergencies. I am hoping to get another card soon - will this be OK with the check having been done for the current account.
Also I want to open an Abbey current account this week (to go with an ISA and reg saver), should I risk another credit check?0
